Dr. Munther Aldoori
Consultant General & Vascular Surgeon, UK

Dr Aldoori is the Consultant General & Vascular Surgeon at the Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Trust in the UK; a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Leeds and a Visiting Professor at the University of Baghdad.
Dr Aldoori has been a Member of the General Medical Council since 1999 and in the same year was elected to the Council of the Vascular Society of Great Britain & Ireland. He trained at the Bristol Royal Infirmary where he also undertook his major doctorate level research on the role of carotid surgery in preventing stroke.
He has published more than 70 peer reviewed papers and abstracts, 17 chapters in nine books and co-author of a book “Clinical Surgery – A Practical Guide”. He is also the reviewer of manuscripts and books for several journals.
He is the chair of the local BMA Committee and a Fellow of BIDA (British International Doctors Association). One of his roles is to provide mentorship and sponsorship to overseas, undergraduate and postgraduate doctors.
He is an examiner at several medical schools including Leeds, Baghdad, Dubai, Kuwait and Sharjah, as well as a postgraduate examiner for three Royal Colleges and a member of intercollegiate Board in General Surgery. He is also an examiner and supervisor to the Libyan Board in General Surgery and continues to work with colleagues to improve training standards.
He has helped to forge successful scientific links between the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Emirate of Sharjah.
