CJ Vanston

CJ Vanston is a multi Grammy nominated producer, film composer, session keyboard player and songwriter.
As a session keyboardist and arranger, he has worked on over 200 albums with artists such as Prince, Celine Dion, Joe Cocker, Barbra Streisand, Ringo Starr, Dolly Parton, ‘NSync and many more.

The range of his music producing spans from American rockers Def Leppard’s 2011 single “All About Believing,” Joe Cocker’s “Heart & Soul,” to Spinal Tap’s 2010 Grammy Nominated “Back From The Dead”.

As a songwriter, he has worked with writers such as Desmond Child, Paul Williams, Barry Mann, Bernie Taupin, Tony Jo White, Kool Kojak, to name a few.
He has composed music for all four of Christopher Guest’s movies – “Waiting for Guffman,” “Best In Show,” “A Mighty Wind,” and “For Your Consideration,” He has also composed the scores for many other movies. A song he produced, “A Kiss at the End of the Rainbow,” from “A Mighty Wind,” was nominated for an Oscar for Best Song in 2004.

He has been musical director/keyboardist on World Tours for Tina Turner, Joe Cocker and Spinal Tap in over 40 countries. He has co-written and produced many albums of top-flight bands and musicians, and is currently finishing a record with partner Jeff Baxter set for release in early 2012.
